I strive to live my life as clean and non-toxic as possible. Whether it’s the cleaners I use in my home, the food I put in my mouth or the clothes that I wear, I always strive for organic whenever possible. It is not just because I care about my own wellbeing, but because I want to do my part to reduce the pollutants in our environment by choosing non-toxic options whenever possible.
Fortunately, the green/eco movement has surged over the past few years and people are becoming much more informed about the toxins that exist all around them. It also means that clean alternatives are more in demand and becoming easier to find. Organic food and cleaners are at most major grocery stores, but finding organic clothes can still be a bit tricky. (Especially if you don’t live in a major city.) As usual, thank goodness for the Internet!
I was recently looking for some simple organic tops online and discovered blankclothing.ca. In addition to a lot of great—and affordable—wardrobe basics, the site also has some organic options. I found great quality polo shirts that I can wear to work and long-sleeve crews for weekends. These are great staples for my wardrobe, while meeting my personal goal of striving to keep it as healthy and non-toxic as possible.
It’s not always easy to live a non-toxic, green life, but I am grateful when I find a good source for the goods and products that I need. Every little step we make towards sustainability is a positive one.
